Get the most out of your website

There is several things that you can do to get the best out of your website and I explain it here.

There is only three important things involved that make your website worth the costs and effort.

The first and most important is the visitors because a website without visitors don't help very much. The second thing is income generating through your business services or products and the last thing is the fact that you OWN your domain name, are proud about your website and can use it to generate income from external sources, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The summarized steps are outlined below.

Keywords and search engine ranking.

Research the Internet to determine which keyword and phrases are most frequently used in the previous 60-days at the search engines for your specific industry. Knowing these words and phrases -- and their relative popularity is essential to Internet success.

Structure the content of your website BASED on these keywords and phrases -- When you organize the content of your site, strategically place these important keywords within the body of the pages.

Relevant content for your website and related chosen keywords and phrases is a must. The time spend for doing this properly and add enough relevant content into your website are worth many times the price of your yearly web hosting fee.

It's also important that you make sure that your whole online operation are geared to serve visitors and clients the best way possible. An auto responder to reply on any enquiries is a must and must look professional in order to turn a potential customer into a client.

After you made sure that your meta tags are correct, submit your website URL to search engines according to the protocols each require. This needs to be done right or your pages get badly outranked and contributes to low traffic.

Add more income streams

Search the internet and choose which revenue generating links you can place on your website.

The primary goal of your website are to attract relevant traffic, which hopefully converts to income when a visitor buy products from you or make use of your service.

By adding additional income streams with the help of relevant affiliate programs, where YOU don't do anything, you increase not only the potential income per visitor but also increase your website ranking due to the relevant
links and information.

Affiliate programs offer the additional benefit that, when a visitor click on such link and leave your website, the affiliate commission tracking codes are embedded in their browser.

In simple terms it means that, even if they visit the affiliate merchant a few months later, the affiliate tracking code is still on their browser so the merchant will handles the transaction as such and you get paid.

Affiliate programs is a wonderful business relationship. The other businesses handle all the customer orders and fulfilment and you only handle the referral.

Information is everything

Almost the whole purpose of the internet is to search for information and the internet is not called the Information Highway for nothing.

People search for prices of items to compare it; they search for information about products before and after they purchase it. They also search for information related to services to determine whom they must use for a specific task, where they can find the most suitable and nearest business etc etc.

Whether you sell products or provide a service you MUST then know at least more of that product or service than the average man in the street and as business owner your whole role is to convert strangers into clients.

This is easier said than done and the only way you can do that is to let them trust you enough to decide to purchase your products or make use of your services.

In the real world it would already become second nature for you to talk about your business with friends, family and newly met strangers and your knowledge about your products or services play an important role to turn them into customers.

The internet is precise the same but with the additional benefit that once on your website, such information will stay there and work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide visitors with the information they need and convince them that you are an expert in your field and they are in good hands if using your services or buy your products.

Again, information is important and the amount of such relevant content has a direct influence on your search engine ranking (provided it's done properly) and ultimately your income.
